This position is located at DFMWR/Community Recreation Division Center at Fort Polk, LA.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as Facility Assistant in a fitness facility. Works under the direction of the Fitness Facility Manager
  • Assists Facility Manager in the overall management and operation of a fitness facility
  • Circulates among patrons to assure service is satisfactory: provides information and general instruction on the use of equipment, facilities, and machinery.
  • Assists with publicity of programs and events assists with marketing of posters, flyers and other promotional material
  • Issues/receives equipment to authorized users.

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position
  • A one year probationary period may be required
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check
  • Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks IAW AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a National Agency Check (NAC).
  • Possesses and maintains the following certifications: CPR, First Aid, and AED; MWR Orientation Course; Customer Service; Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair).
Qualifications
  1. Possesses directly related work experience that includes the demonstrated ability to operate multiple fitness facilities.
  2. The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.

Highly Desirable: 1. Possession of a Nationally Recognized Basic Fitness Trainer Certification.
